Urig Roter Veltliner, Bauer, Orange Wine Austria 2021
Our first wines from the Wagram wine region on the Danube west of Vienna and one of three new orange wines in our portfolio. Roter Veltliner is a real rarity and is only distantly related to Grüner Veltliner. The Urig is matured for a whole year in 600l barrels before bottling. Organic, unfiltered and natural Orange Wine Austria.
Peach, quince and a hint of peppermint on the nose, gooseberry and almonds combined with the typical apple cider and tannic orange wine note.
Great with light game dishes or as an aperitif.

About Familie Bauer Wagram
The Bauer family makes wine in Wagram, the region just northeast of Vienna along the Danube — Roter Veltliner country. Vintage by vintage, their focus is the same: improve the quality of the wine, and let the bottle speak honestly of its typicity. The wine drinker should feel the climate, the site, and the care taken in the vineyard and the cellar.
Their approach refuses the easy trick of producing the same wine year after year through clever methods. Each vintage is allowed to reflect its own conditions — what the season gave that year. Modern techniques in vineyard and cellar exist to serve, not override, that goal: protecting carefully selected, healthy grape material through to the bottle so that what reaches the glass is, as the family put it, a "liquid experience" of place.
